Profile: James Bowden, MBBS (Hons), M.Med, FRANZCR

Dr James Bowden obtained his medical degree with honors from the University of Sydney in 1997. After moving to Melbourne, he undertook his radiology training at Northern Health 2000-2003, followed by fellowship training at Royal Melbourne Hospital in MRI and breast imaging in 2004.

After receiving his FRANZCR, James worked as a Consultant Radiologist at Austin Health 2005-2006, subspecialising in breast imaging, MRI and vascular interventional radiology. During this time, he was awarded the degree of Master of Medicine from the University of Melbourne.

After moving to Royal Melbourne Hospital as a Consultant Radiologist late in 2006, James assisted in establishing the Breast MRI service at Melbourne Health, joined the multidisciplinary team at Northwestern BreastScreen & has worked in general MRI and vascular (including trauma) intervention at Melbourne Health from 2006-2010.
